 Small wind turbine sites, in general, use a 0.5Hz sampling interval and 10-minute averaging for feasibility study or testing. Studies have established that the calculated performance variation of small turbines when at large time intervals. The is larger sites with high variability. However, these studies are often based on low frequency In present study, speed data has been measured 20Hz an ultrasonic sensor. A dynamic model 50W Rutland used to analyse simulated using range intervals some anemometer installed residential area energy compared directly IEC recommended method bins. direct results show rise instantaneous up 20 seconds insignificant effect output. Whereas, 2-seconds sampled averaged over 10-minutes, overestimates 19% observed. where only available, there significant underestimate by 45%. bins resolution underestimates 22% average data.
